Metro Detroit hit with heavy rain

DETROIT – The heaviest of the rain is moving south to north through Metro Detroit early this morning and will become lighter and lighter as we get into the morning drive.

But, as much as 1-3” of rain or more has fallen and the roads are a disaster.

CHECK: Traffic Page

Plan on lots of extra time and some alternate routes due to flooding. After lunch, showers will start moving out and we may even get into some patchy blue skies by late afternoon or early evening. Highs near 80 degrees with winds WSW 10-17 mph.

Another rain maker will move in late Wednesday afternoon and/or evening as the first half or more of the day will be dry. Highs into the low or mid 80s depending on the timing of the clouds and thundershowers which should be near 4 or 5pm. These showers may linger into  early Thursday, although most of the day does look dry too.

Models show isolated shower chances through Friday and Saturday and a very good chance at rain and thunder throughout the day on Sunday. Make sure you download the Local4Casters app with radar and storm updates, so you’re prepared all summer long.
