Metro Detroit forecast: Marginal risk for strong storms Thursday

Showers are racing across SE Lower Michigan this Thursday morning which may slow down that morning drive.

The showers are coming in waves weakening as they move into our area but there is a very slim or Marginal Risk for a few isolated strong storms with gusty winds. Stay tuned to Local 4 News Today 4:30am to 7am. As temps warm back into the low and mid 80s, we’ll see more rain and thundershowers forming through the afternoon. A weak cold front is on its way through and that will bring better weather tonight and Friday.

Expect patchy fog early tomorrow around Metro Detroit, but ost of Friday looks cooler and dryer with highs near 80 degrees. The humidity will be down too and tropical moisture will bring showers just off to our south.

Details are still coming in for what could be a Saturday soaker. There is a good chance for showers and storms on Saturday starting early and possibly getting heavy in the afternoon. There is a chance this remnant moisture from former Hurricane Newton will miss its mark and bringing only scattered activity to start our weekend.
