Metro Detroit weather forecast: Cloudy with chance of rain this week

Temperatures drop into 40s

DETROIT – If you like forecasts that are easy to remember, this one’s for you.

From Monday through the start of the weekend, we’ll be under the influence of a large, lumbering low pressure system that will spread plenty of clouds and chances of rain over us.

Monday night, we’ll see a short-lived area of clearing in the wake of our morning cold front. That clearing will allow temperatures to drop to the 40s in most locations. The coolest temperatures will actually be in our South Zone. Check out those numbers on our 4ZONE page.

Tuesday, winds that will relax overnight come back. Clouds will increase through the day and highs will only reach the low to mid-60s. A light scattered shower is possible, mainly in the afternoon in our North Zone.

Beyond that, it’s a whole lot of the same: Mainly clouds and periodic shower chances as spokes of energy rotate around that low. Highs will stay in the mid-60s and lows in the low 50s through the weekend.  We’ll start seeing more widespread sunshine early next week.
