Metro Detroit weather forecast: Heading back to reality

Temperatures decrease this week

DETROIT – The slow transition back to reality continues Wednesday night.

Despite hitting the 70s Wednesday afternoon, temperatures aren’t getting any warmer. Wednesday night, we’ll watch the clouds increase and a few light showers develop after midnight. Lows will fall to around 50 degrees.

Once we get into the 50s, we won’t be coming out during the day on Thursday. Clouds with off-and-on rain (more on than off, especially in the South and Metro Zones) will be the rule. Our 4ZONE Forecast Wednesday breaks down rainfall totals for Thursday. Highs will only reach the upper 50s.

Friday, we dry out but clouds stick around. Highs will be even cooler, in the low to mid-50s. Winds will pick up, too.

The weekend will be our coldest of the forecast, at least in the mornings. Both Saturday and Sunday we’ll start out in the 30s, but with partly cloudy skies, highs will make it to the low 50s on Saturday and low 60s on Sunday.

Temperatures will stay close to average for next week. Check out the numbers in our 10-day forecast.
