Metro Detroit weather forecast: Cold front with temps in the 40s to 50s

Happy Veterans Day! A morning cold front is moving through as our mild morning temps in the 40s to low 50s will be cooling down. The winds have shifted to the north and will begin to pick up mid morning and into the afternoon. So, cooler air all day and those north winds 5-15 mph gusting over 20 mph at times will produce a bit more cloud cover in the Thumb and on the east side. So, highs in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees closer to the big lakes, and low 50s on the west side dealing with more sunshine today. Any rain chances will be isolated to our North Zone and into Southern Ontario with a few light lake effect rain showers. Again, most of us are dry with a nice mix of sun and clouds.

Cooler air settles in to the start the weekend with morning lows below freezing and highs struggling in the upper 40s tomorrow. Saturday will be dry and sunny, just cool and calm with winds WSW 5-12 mph.  Sunday brings more sun with dry conditions and highs slowly climbing back into the low to mid 50s.

Monday looks good with sunshine and low to mid 50s, although skies begin to fill with more clouds late in the day. A slight rain chance on Tuesday, but it would be light and brief. To stay ahead of the Fall swings and changes, make sure you have the Local4Casters app and take the weather with you.
