Metro Detroit weather forecast: Mild and foggy start

A mild but foggy start to your Wednesday with temps in the low 40s as you head out and about this morning around Metro Detroit. Our West Zone and South Zone will see the thickest fog through 9 or 10am. Cloudy skies will linger into the lunch hour and we’ll see more and more sunshine through the afternoon. Our warming waits a little while but we should surge into the low and mid 50s through the afternoon with winds W 5-10 mph.

Warmer and warmer weather awaits as we head into the 60s on Thursday and Friday. Look for a good deal of sunshine and highs tomorrow in the low to mid 60s with winds SSE 5-15 mph along a warm front moving through. It should be even warmer on Friday with more sun and the chance for highs to be near Detroit’s record high which is 68° on November 18th. Model data suggests mid 60s in SE Lower Michigan, so we may be just shy. Skies will be nice and sunny all day with clouds and breezes picking up Friday Night. We will likely see rain moving in by midnight.

A colder storm will blow in Saturday morning with very blustery conditions as we transition from warm to cold. We should see mainly rain during the early morning with a few spots possibly seeing some wet snowflakes mixing in. That is a more likely scenario later in the day Saturday with a secondary push of cold air. Blustery and gusty, cold conditions Saturday and Sunday with scattered snow showers Sunday and temps mainly in the 30s all day around Metro Detroit.
