DETROIT – We are waking up Tuesday morning with temps in the single digits to low teens. Wind chills are below zero for many of you around Metro Detroit but the winds won’t likely be a big factor until after 8 a.m.
We will feel some warming today with highs taking aim at 30 degrees under mostly sunny skies. But, it won’t feel real warm as those winds will be cranking SW 10-20 mph gusting over 30 mph at times.
We start Wednesday with temps in the upper teens to near 20 degrees and should get into the low 30s. But, clouds will go from partly to mostly cloudy ahead of a snow chance Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday. This should be a dusting to maybe an inch around Metro Detroit with our North Zone seeing snow reach closer to an inch… again, very minor.
We have changes for the upcoming Holiday weekend. Highs will be well into the 30s Thursday through Monday with a few chances of even getting into the low 40s. The weekend storm as changed from timing to type of precipitation. Dry conditions most of Thursday and Friday. A weak storm system will pass just to our south Saturday, and Christmas day looks dry and mild ... for now.
An approaching storm will bring rain to the area on Monday and what could be a lot of rain with temps in the low 40s. The models are quite different this morning with that storm so stay tuned in case of any changes to the new look.
