Metro Detroit forecast: Dangerous wind chills
Dangerous wind chills this morning with temps in the single digits and low to mid teens and wind chills near and below zero. Friday sunshine will battle through some high clouds but we will see some hazy or milky sunshine with highs in the low and mid 20s with winds W 10-20 mph making it feel much colder all day. You need the layers covering exposed skin… all day! There may be a few lake effect flurries flying at times with those winds bringing better snow chances closer to Lake Michigan.
Saturday will be mostly sunny to start with high clouds filling in through the afternoon. It will be bitter cold early with single digits and low teens warming to near 30 degrees in the afternoon. The high clouds are ahead of a light snow maker moving through the high plains Saturday coming to parts of Metro Detroit Sunday.
We can expect light snow coming Super Bowl Sunday morning along and north of I-94 and dropping less than an inch for most with our North Zone perhaps getting slightly more. The next big storm comes Tuesday with early morning snow changing to rain and periods of heavy rain. You can always take the weather with you with the Local4Casters app.
