Metro Detroit weather: Warm temperatures disappear overnight

Warm weather returns this weekend

DETROIT – The forecast in Metro Detroit will undergo a quick change on Tuesday night. After hitting 50 degrees in the afternoon, temperatures are on their way down to the 20s overnight.

Wind chills will be in the low to mid-teens overnight. Before we get to the coldest marks, expect to see some evening snow showers, but no accumulation is expected.

There's not much of warmup ahead Wednesday. Temperatures will barely get to freezing. Winds will stay breezy, keeping wind chills in the teens for much of the day. A flurry or snow shower might show up in the afternoon, but like Tuesday night, no accumulation is expected.

Temperatures in the 40s will return Friday, along with the sunshine. That will put us back above average temperatures.

The weekend will bring our warmest temperatures. Low 50s is where we’ll end up for Saturday and Sunday, and it’s all coming with mostly sunny skies.

Monday won’t look or feel much different, but we will see rain return for Tuesday.
