Metro Detroit weather: Single digit wind chills to start the day

A downright chilly start to your Wednesday with wind chills in the single digits and teens around Metro Detroit under clear skies. Those wind chills will be an issue through about 8am and then the winds relax a bit. It’s still cold with morning temps in the 20s, finally climbing into the 30s around lunch time. We will max out in the mid 30s with mostly sunny skies and winds N 5-10 mph.

The cold air will be around Thursday morning before we finally start to feel a warm up returning. Thursday morning lows in the teens for just about all of Metro Detroit and then warming into the 40s through the afternoon. High clouds will begin to increase late in the day ahead of a shower chance coming our way. A warm front is on the move through the middle of the country heading our way bringing rain chances with it. That means we will likely see rain, possibly mixing with a few flakes north, overnight into early Friday.

The warm front moving through Friday should bring many of us into the upper 50s to low 60s with scattered showers possible. Right now, the models do not show an all day washout but early morning showers and wet again in the late afternoon. More weekend showers are coming which will be more hit or miss rain and thunder Saturday and Sunday, rather than constant soaking rains.
