Metro Detroit weather: Plenty of rain coming next 2 days
Break from rain comes Thursday night
DETROIT – Showers are making their move into southeast Michigan, and this is just the beginning of a 48-hour stretch of wet weather.
Some areas will get wet at times Wednesday night, but the larger push of rain won't show up until after sunrise.
Overnight lows will range from the mid-30s in our North Zone to the low 40s almost everywhere else. Temperatures will be cold enough to start the precipitation as snow in our North Zone, but everything will transition to rain by mid- to late morning.
It's possible we will see a quick covering of deck railings and mailboxes, but it won't stick around long.
The rest of the area will see widespread rain by the end of the morning commute. Rain will become steadier through the early afternoon, then we might get a break going into Thursday night.
Temperatures will remain generally steady in the low and mid-40s throughout Thursday, but numbers will rise after midnight heading toward Friday morning's commute.
Rain chances will linger through Friday with a milder finish near 60 degrees. With two days of off-and-on rain, amounts will top 1 inch in parts of southeast Michigan.
Our weekend still looks dry. Check out those numbers in our 10-day forecast.
