Metro Detroit weather: Temperatures increase through midweek

Wednesday highs reach 80 degrees

DETROIT – At first glance, Monday's weather looks hard to beat, but we'll do it!

On Monday night, clouds will increase, especially after midnight. Lows will be in the mid- and upper 40s.

We'll get some sunshine Tuesday, but it will be near the back end. Clouds will start us out. Temperatures will rise to highs in the upper 60s.

Midweek brings the goodness! Wednesday, a few spots could touch 80 degrees in the afternoon. That’s with a mix of sun and clouds.

Thursday will be only a few degrees cooler, in the mid-70s. That’s still about a dozen degrees above normal for late April. Also, showers will develop late on Thursday, so Wednesday will be the pick day of the week.

We will cool down going into the weekend, but not by much. Highs Friday and Saturday will still reach the mid- and upper 60s, but there will be showers and possibly a thunderstorm around this weekend. More on that in our 10-day forecast.
