Metro Detroit weather: Cool, wet and windy

More spotty rain showers this morning with temps mainly in the mid 40s as you head out.

Grab the umbrella for the morning and early afternoon, although the showers will be on the lighter side. Cool, cloudy, and windy otherwise as highs struggle to get into the low 50s and winds SW 15-25 mph will gust between 30-40 mph at times this midday and afternoon. The shower trend will dry out into the mid and late afternoon bringing a few isolated, light showers to a close.

Wednesday is the pick day of the week, which isn’t saying much because we have another stretch of wet weather coming. Morning temps tomorrow will be on the chilly side in the upper 30s as skies clear out. Highs will hit the upper 50s and try to sneak into the low 60s in a few spots challenged by cooler breezes NW 5-10 mph. Skies will be mostly sunny most of the day but increasing clouds Wednesday night into Thursday.

Rain showers return Thursday morning and will be with us for a good part of the day. This will have a significant impact on temps as we are forced back down into the low 50s. The winds NE 7-17 mph will try to dry the rain coming in from the southwest, but there’s too much moisture to hold off and it will be an umbrella day. More showers likely on Friday and Saturday, although they will be lighter. Still, the week ends on the cool and breezy side along with lighter rain chances.
