1-2 inches of rain expected in some areas of SE Michigan

DETROIT – Rain is moving in without much sign of letting up today, so you can expect an all day soaker.

This will make the morning and evening commutes slow and slippery with heavy pockets of rain also causing concern for hydroplaning -- be careful. We could see 1-2 inches of rain in spots today, especially south of M 59 which includes most of our viewing area, and more tomorrow. Temps will hover around 50 degrees or cooler Thursday with a biting wind NE 5-15 mph gusting to 20 mph making it wet, breezy, and cool. Get used to this pattern.

Rain showers will be lighter but consistent Friday through the noon hour with signs of letting up or at least scattered showers through the afternoon. The winds are a bit stronger and cooler tomorrow around Metro Detroit NNW 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph. Showers from Thursday and Friday will take us to the rain total prediction of 1-3” with again slightly drier conditions into the afternoon tomorrow.

Saturday brings yet another rain maker with even cooler air and breezes. Scattered showers with temps in the upper 40s to low 50s and winds NW 10-20 mph. The rain chances could very well ruin your Saturday plans just adding a little insult to injury from the potentially flooding rains today through midday Friday. Calm weather returns Sunday, but the breezes will keep kicking as highs stay in the 50s with sun and clouds.
