Metro Detroit weather: Sunny with highs in upper 50s

The sun will warm us quickly today and the skies will barely see a cloud until the afternoon hours and highs in the upper 50s.

A freeze warning for Metro Detroit has expired. The winds will be on the lighter side all day becoming NW 5-12 mph gusting close to 20 mph at times.

Tuesday may start with frost and freeze concerns again with most of us seeing lows in the mid and upper 30s early tomorrow. Your day will start cool and bright and warm to nearly 60 degrees as the high clouds increase into the afternoon. So, skies go from mostly sunny to partly sunny keeping temps from climbing much higher. Winds are light N 5-10 mph.

A mix of sun and clouds Wednesday and highs will be heading well into the low and mid 60s Wednesday through the weekend. Rain chances will be limited this week with a few light rain makers traveling just south of us here in SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario.

Light rain chances are present on our computer models for this coming Mother’s Day Weekend, but it doesn’t look too intense. We’ll keep you posted, but  you can always stay ahead of these Spring showers with our Local4Casters app.
