Metro Detroit weather: Mostly dry with temps in the 70s

Good Tuesday morning and it is a calm start for most of us with temps in the mid to upper 50s as you head out under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

There are a few showers moving into our West and North Zones early on, and we cannot rule out an isolated light shower through the morning hours elsewhere. Most of your day is dry with partly sunny skies and highs heading into the low 70s. The wind is lighter today S 5-10 mph and afternoon showers will likely return well north and west of Metro Detroit. Areas along and north of I-69 heading into Central Michigan have the best chances for afternoon rain and isolated thundershowers.

It will be a dry start tomorrow, and then get ready for a wet Wednesday afternoon and evening. Skies start mostly cloudy and the rain should move in after 2 or 3pm from the south tomorrow and will get heavier Wednesday night and early Thursday. Temps on Wednesday may touch the low 70s quickly before the rain settles in.

Thursday morning showers will linger and may be heavy in spots before sunrise and then a bit more scattered the rest of the day. The center of the storm or rain maker will move east but will likely spin showers back into Metro Detroit throughout the day… especially east siders and Southern Ontario. Areas west of Downtown Detroit may have a much drier afternoon as highs will loom in the mid 60s under cloudy or even rainy skies.

Conditions look to be dry and pleasant to start your Memorial Day Weekend. Friday and Saturday both look dry with partly cloudy to partly sunny skies and temps into the low and mid 70s. Rain and isolated thundershowers return Sunday and possibly Monday. As you prepare for the Holiday Weekend, stay ahead of Spring Storms with our Local4Casters app.
