Metro Detroit weather forecast: Scattered afternoon rain possible on Memorial Day

Highs in the 70s

Happy Memorial Day!  We have temps in the mid 50s as you head out early on this Monday under mostly clear skies. The sun will be strong for the first half of the day and the breezes will be picking up SW 10-20 mph with some gusts close to 30 mph this afternoon. Highs will land in the upper 70s to 80 degrees by early or mid afternoon. Clouds will begin to fill in and thicken quickly this afternoon with a weak disturbance blowing through. Scattered rain and thundershowers are likely after 3 or 4pm which means you may have a brief delay for your late afternoon/evening BBQ. These showers may bring lightning and brief downpours so make sure you’re able to find a safe place away from the pool  for a little while. The timeframe for showers and isolated thunderstorms will be 3pm to 8pm around Metro Detroit.

It will not be as warm tomorrow with highs only in the low 70s. It will be a pleasant Tuesday with a ix of sun and clouds and a nice steady breeze SW 8-18 mph. There will be another chance for an afternoon shower or two, but most of us will stay dry tomorrow. Wednesday is a very similar set up with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s after early morning showers become partly cloudy skies.

Thursday should be a nice, dry day as highs hit the low to mid 70s under sunny skies. But, a weak storm system will bring a chance for showers Friday during the first half of the day. Stay ahead of Spring Storms with our Local4Casters app.
