DETROIT – Tuesday's cloud cover came in significantly later than I expected, with most of us starting our day with bright blue skies. But colder air streaming into the state brought clouds to the eastern half of our area, with partly cloudy skies overall west of there.
As you can see on the temperature map above, those who kept sunshine into the afternoon enjoyed pleasant temperatures near 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius) this afternoon, while areas that remained cloudy actually saw temperatures fall once the clouds moved in, and will finish the afternoon in the low to mid 60s (16-17 degrees Celsius), with parts of the Thumb even cooler than that.

A few brief sprinkles and very light showers popped up mid-afternoon, but those shouldn’t pose any problems for those of you heading to Comerica Park for tonight’s Tigers game against the Angels. Sunset this evening is at 9:07 p.m.
