Scattered rain chances across SE Michigan

Happy Friday!

We do have an slightly unstable formula for the day ahead with scattered rain and thundershowers moving in after 7 a.m.

This could slow some of you during the morning commute, but the showers will be scattered moving in from the west and northwest. Most of the showers will produce light to moderate rain and isolated thunder. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s with a better shot of scattered rain and thundershowers this afternoon. So, keep the umbrella handy today knowing these showers later on could produce some brief, heavy downpours and lightning but no threat of severe weather at this time. The winds will start warming us up WSW 5-15 mph gusting to near 20 mph at times.

Saturday

Saturday looks to be the pick day of the weekend, although both days will be warm and very summer like. Look for mostly sunny skies tomorrow with highs in the mid 80s or a little warmer. The humidity will be on the rise and we’ll feel that even more Sunday and Monday.

Sunday high temps will take a shot at 90 degrees, but with the heat and humidity on the rise, a chance for a few isolated thundershowers popping up with the heat of Sunday afternoon. Keep an eye to the afternoon skies as we end the weekend. The winds will be up this weekend bringing in the heat and humidity SW 7-17  mph both days.

The heat sticks around most of next week around Metro Detroit. We have a shot at 90 degrees on Monday and Tuesday with humid but storm free weather to begin the week. Scattered showers and storms Wednesday and just a hint cooler. You can track radar and when we expected more rain with our Local4Casters app.
