Metro Detroit Weather: Warm temps, high humidity welcome August

DETROIT – July is ending on a warm note, but the higher humidity rolls in for our first week of August.

Tonight, expect clear skies and seasonably mild temperatures dropping to the mid-60s by daybreak. Humidity still will be on the low side for summer and winds will remain light.

Tuesday will bring back the sunshine, the heat, and sprinkle in some noticeable humidity. Highs will again reach the upper-80s.

Humidity gets higher for Wednesday. And that’s when thunderstorms return as well. Expect them to pop in the afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the mid-80s. If storms get delayed, expect highs to reach 90 in spots.

Thursday looks like our best shot at thunderstorms with warm and humid conditions continuing. Highs will be in the mid-80s. But our rain chances will end (temporarily) by late Friday morning. Then we start the weekend dry, but we won’t finish that way.

Temperatures will drop along with the humidity on Friday, setting us up for a very comfortable weekend. See what parts are looking wet in our 10 Day Forecast.
