Metro Detroit weather: Partly sunny Thursday afternoon

Highs in the mid-70s

DETROIT – Some Thursday morning fog around Metro Detroit leading to a Dense Fog Advisory in many areas, especially the I-69 and I-75 corridors west and north of Detroit.

Those low clouds may leak some light showers mainly in Southern Ontario this morning with spotty drizzle possible on the east side.

Otherwise, partly sunny this afternoon with times of decent sunshine and highs in the mid 70s once again. The winds are light SSE 5-10 mph and with clearing skies late in the day, fog will develop again late tonight into early Friday.

Friday forecast

Cloud cover will be a big factor Friday around SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario. We will start with low clouds or fog early and the amount of afternoon sun will determine whether we will be flirting with 80 degrees Friday. I think we have a pretty good shot with partly cloudy skies tomorrow afternoon and light winds SSE 5-10 mph.

Saturday forecast

Saturday will be absolutely ideal with a mid September taste of late summer. Highs will hit the low 80s to start the weekend with tons of sun. Sunday morning is the JDRF One Walk along the Detroit River, starting in Milliken State Park at 8:30 a.m. and the weather will be great. Clear skies and temps in the low 60s early, warming quickly all weekend.

Sunny skies turn partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s, and then a chance for showers after dinner into Sunday evening. You can expect some showers and isolated thunder into early Monday. You can track sky conditions, and storm chances with our Local4Casters app.
