Metro Detroit weather forecast: We could see 80 degrees today

Showers are on the way

DETROIT – It’s cool, but not as cool as Monday morning, so you will be heading out to temps in the upper 40s to low 50s to start your Tuesday under mostly clear skies.

We have a good chance at seeing or feeling 80 degrees today with sunshine and then partly cloudy skies with high clouds on the increase this afternoon and evening. It will be a bit breezy later today with winds SW 5-15 gusting over 20 mph from time to time. Clouds will increase and thicken tonight and overnight with showers on the way.

Wednesday forecast

Rain and isolated thundershowers will greet us mid morning Wednesday as round one of the wet weather and this should come at the tail end or after the morning drive.  There will be a few breaks in the action tomorrow as highs hit the mid 70s, but  heavier and steadier showers will regenerate Wednesday afternoon into the evening.

Thursday forecast

A few showers are expected early Thursday, but most of the day is dry. It’s a little cooler Thursday with morning temps in the low 50s and highs only in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance for a shower or two but mainly in our South Zone near the Ohio Border in the afternoon.

Weekend outlook

Get ready for some wet football games as we expect more rain and isolated thundershowers Friday and Saturday. So, High School Football games are at risk Friday night, and it could be very wet and windy for the Michigan State at Michigan football game Saturday.
