DETROIT – It’s warm on a Wednesday morning around Metro Detroit as you head out into temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.
There is a line of rain and thundershowers along a cold front moving our way this morning. We expect a gradual weakening or disorganization of these showers to start meaning only scattered rain and isolated thundershowers between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Heavy showers chance mid-day
Our best chance for some heavier showers will be right in the middle of the day or from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with scattered showers possible again through the late afternoon. High temps will not get much warmer than the mid 70s and breezy SW 5-15 mph gusting over 20 mph from time to time. Much more stable weather moves in this evening and tomorrow.
Thursday forecast includes fog
Patchy dense fog likely Thursday morning as lows dip into the upper 40s to low 50s in Southeastern Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario. We’ll see mostly sunny skies most of the day and highs only in the low 70s. There is a slight chance for a shower or two scattered about Metro Detroit in the afternoon but don’t count on too much activity.
Wet weekend forecast
Get ready for some wet football games as we expect more rain and isolated thundershowers Friday and Saturday. A warm front moves in Friday bringing rain and thundershowers during the day and lingering showers will make for some wet Friday Football Friday night. Highs will stay near 70 degrees even with a warm front because of the clouds and rain chances.
Saturday should start dry and warm as highs may be closer to 80 degrees. But, a cold front will swing through in the afternoon bringing rain and thunder chances once again and it could be wet and windy for tailgaters of the Michigan State at Michigan football game Saturday in Ann Arbor. The game is at night so we hope conditions calm down by then which is very likely at this point.
