Showers end Thursday evening, temperatures stay above freezing overnight

DETROIT – Thursday evening rain diminishes slowly, and the Detroit area goes from relatively mild to chilly. Temps remain above freezing overnight.

Thursday evening will have scattered light rain, and it remains mild compared to average highs. Temps remain in the middle and upper 50s. Drivers need to remain cautious while driving, especially on streets with fallen leaves.

Thursday night will be drier after midnight. Overnight lows remain out of the 30s overnight, so freezing will not be a concern. The mercury will fall to the low and middle 40s by dawn, Friday.

Friday morning will be mostly cloudy, and the afternoon become brighter. Highs will be near 55 degrees, which is average for this time of year. Weather will be perfect for midday and afterschool activities like Friday night football.

Saturday will be dry in the morning, then wet in the afternoon. Wolverines' and Spartans' fans will need their ponchos to stay dry during afternoon football games. Stay warm, too. It will be cool to chilly with highs in the low 50s. Rain arrives after lunchtime.

Remember to "Fall Back" 1 hour Saturday night, before going to bed, as Daylight Saving Time ends.

Rain remains in Motown's forecast Sunday. A warm front passes, and it gets warmer. highs will be in the middle 60s.

Then, just like that, temps fall through the 50s and 40s Monday with mostly cloudy skies after a cold front arrives.

Election Day, Tuesday, will have good weather for voters. Highs will be in the middle 40s under partly sunny skies.
