Metro Detroit weather forecast: Cloudy start with temps in the 30s

DETROIT – Another cloudy start with some patchy Tuesday morning fog with lows dipping into the upper 20s North to low 30s around most of Metro Detroit.

The clouds will be clearing out this morning and we should get a good dose of sunshine through the day with temps responding nicely. Afternoon highs will hit the mid 40s in our North Zone and upper 40s to near 50 degrees for most of us later today under mostly sunny skies and light winds SSW 5-10 mph.

Get ready to get wet Wednesday. This looks to be mainly rain late morning and early afternoon Wednesday. It should be too warm for any wintry mix, although areas near the shores of Lake Michigan could see a few areas of snow too. Here, it's rain starting by as early as 8 or 9am, but most likely between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Highs will be held in the mid 40s with winds picking up SSW 10-20 mph and only warmer if the rain shuts off earlier than expected.

It will be dry Thursday with lows in the 30s and highs in the mid 40s, but sunshine is questionable at this point. We will likely see some clouds hanging on with periods of partly cloudy skies mixed in. Another weather maker comes in Friday late morning or afternoon which means rain as temps should be well into the 40s by then.

Rain and thundershowers likely Saturday turning to a mix late in the day. And, watch out for scattered lake effect snow showers Sunday. Stay tuned! Track sky conditions and our next rain and snow chances with our Local4Casters app.
