Foggy start across Metro Detroit
It’s a mild and foggy start to the work and school week here around Metro Detroit with morning lows in the mid to upper 30s as you head out. The fog will move out quickly mid morning as the winds start picking up. It will be mostly cloudy most of the day with winds SSE 10-20 mph gusting over 20 mph through the afternoon. Rain chances will be mainly in our West Zone and into Flint and Saginaw through the afternoon, while the rest of us can expect some active weather tonight. Rain and thundershowers move through ahead of a cool front that will make a big chance this week. Showers late Monday last into the overnight and early Tuesday.
Morning rain and thundershowers and then dropping temps most of the day tomorrow. Skies will become partly sunny and may even clear briefly as the cooler air pours into SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario. Temps in the 40s will fall into the upper 30s by the afternoon and the winds will be brisk again SW 10-25 mph gusting over 30 mph at times.
Lake effect snow showers will be coming and going starting Tuesday night and Wednesday. Those snow showers will then be part of our forecast for the rest of the week. It doesn’t look like we have accumulating snow coming, but a few snow squalls midweek will make for some tricky travel. Scattered lake effect snow Wednesday as we become colder and still windy. Temps Wednesday will be in the low 30s, feeling much cooler and then its teens to low 20s warming to only low 30s at best the rest of the week.
