Metro Detroit weather: Some warmer temperatures sneaking into the forecast

More snow this weekend

DETROIT – Even though we’re talking a lot about snow, Mother Nature is sneaking in warmer temperatures while we’re not looking

Any bands of lake-effect snow from the afternoon should fade by mid-evening. We still may see some flakes overnight, but they'll be lighter. Temperatures are headed to the mid-20s.

A few snow showers will be around on Saturday morning, adding less than an inch of additional accumulation. Clouds remain through the day, but highs get to the low 30s. Winds will be light.

Sunday will be dry with limited sunshine. Temperatures head to the upper 30s for highs.

Monday will be our warmest of the forecast. Highs should hit 40 in the afternoon. If we see any precipitation (chance is low) it will likely be rain. So, if you’re itching to get out on the lakes to skate or fish, remember this sneaky warmup is in store. And we may get there again next week.

Beyond that, we’re mainly dry with at least some sun going into the start of winter on Thursday.
