Metro Detroit weather: Here's what to expect the rest of this week

DETROIT – We're seeing the clouds try to split and bring you warming sunshine this Tuesday afternoon, but high pressure is trapping some of these low clouds for part of your afternoon in Metro Detroit.

Highs will range from mid 70s to low 80s depending on the timing of the increasing sunshine which will likely be after 2pm or 3pm for many.

There's still a little bit of humidity and with some sunshine later, watch temps try to take off in the fading daylight late this afternoon and into the early evening. Sunset tonight is at 7:40 PM.

Clearing skies overnight while more comfortable air slides in makes for great sleeping weather tonight.

Wednesday forecast

We will wake up Wednesday to temps in the upper 50s keeping things comfortably cooler to start, and it will be warming but comfortable all afternoon. Look for partly cloudy skies in the morning becoming sunny with highs near 80°F and light winds ESE 5-10 mph.

Copy and paste the same forecast for Thursday and Friday only a degree or two warmer for all of SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario.

Next weather maker

Our next weather maker may arrive late, late Saturday Night, but the models show the best chance of rain and thundershowers Sunday morning into the afternoon.

It will be a battle between sun and clouds late Friday through most of Saturday but highs should still be on target for that 80°F mark through Saturday. That means the first half of your weekend looks good, as Sunday may very well be a bit of a soaker. It's the last week of Summer.
