Metro Detroit weather: Tracking rain for weekend start
DETROIT – Good Thursday morning!
Guess what? More of the same today with patchy fog around Metro Detroit with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s as you head out and about early today in otherwise dry conditions. You can expect some hazy or milky morning sunshine, so grab the shades today but we do expect a little more cloud cover today compared to the last few days here.
Those clouds are coming from a big storm over the Plains States today and tomorrow, and we should see filtered sunshine through the afternoon with highs again in the neighborhood of 70°F and light winds ESE 5-12 mph. It's dry all the way through the evening and overnight into your Friday.
We will not be as cool tomorrow morning, waking up in the low to mid 50s Friday with slightly cooler numbers away from Downtown Detroit. The clouds will continue to fill in tomorrow, and so will the humidity. We should hit highs in the lower 70s with partly sunny skies and dry conditions all the way through dinner time.

Computer models once held the rain off until after midnight, but it looks like some rain and isolated thundershowers will move in after 8 or 9 p.m. tomorrow. This could have a slight impact on some of your evening plans, including area high school football games, so stay tuned as we will continue to update you on that rain timing.
A strong cold front will blast through here early Saturday with rain showers in the early morning hours fading through the midday. We will get into a mix of sun and clouds Saturday afternoon, but the cooler winds will be picking up and temps will be falling from the low 60s in the morning through the 50s all day.
Sunday is bright and breezy with 30s to low 40s in the morning and highs in the upper 50s to near 60°F. Snowflakes will be flying in parts of Central and Northern Lower Michigan at times this weekend, but we should be snow free with only our far northern North Zone maybe getting a few flurries Sunday morning. Columbus Day Monday looks decent with sun and clouds.
Cooler air will be pumping in behind the cold front keeping highs only in the 50s to start next week, and then weak rain chances late Tuesday into Wednesday next week. You can get your 7 Day Forecast and track our next storm chances with our Local4Casters app.
