Metro Detroit weather: Rainy Halloween with snow chance later

Rain, snow mix expected later tonight

Happy Halloween!

We have a Wind Advisory that goes into effect this evening as we expect gusty winds tonight. During the day, again more rain with isolated thundershowers and temps near 50°F or slightly warmer only during some of the lulls in the rain activity.

The winds start NNE 5-12 mph and later today will shift to the WSW 10-20 mph and we will see gusts tonight 30-45 mph. Be careful Trick-Or-Treating with rain sticking around this evening along with the gusty winds.

Who is ready for snow? We should see rain and snow mixed after 9 p.m. and then plain snow for a short time, but it’s all gone by early Friday.

Friday forecast

Friday morning temps will be in the lower and mid 30s and overnight snow will have already moved on by sunrise. Skies will stay partly sunny and temps will only hit the mid 40s tomorrow. The winds are still pesky WSW 7-17 mph gusting to 25 mph.

Weekend forecast

Skies clear a bit late Friday into Saturday and that sets us up for a chilly start to the weekend with morning temps at or below freezing. We will see more flakes mixed with a few raindrops flying around Saturday afternoon with temps in the 40s at best. We don’t expect any accumulating snow Saturday but it will look and feel kind of festive for those who love winter.

It will be dry, but chilly on Sunday with partly sunny skies and sub-freezing lows warming into those low to mid 40s once again.

We have ups and downs next week when it comes to your Metro Detroit weather. Monday looks dry with highs trying to get back into the low 50s. Tuesday is a challenge with a system coming through with a little wintry mix changing to light rain with temps in the 40s.

Then, it’s cool again in the middle of next week with mainly 30s and 40s. You can get your 7-Day Forecast and track our next storm chances with our Local4Casters app.
