Metro Detroit weather: Chance of freezing drizzle as temperatures hover around 32 degrees
Temperatures still well below normal for mid-November
DETROIT – The countdown to 40 degrees is on, but even when we get there, it won’t be close to normal temperatures.
Slick spots possible Thursday night
We’ve got a lot of low clouds around for the Thursday evening commute. It’s possible a few areas of freezing drizzle could pop up as temperatures hover near 32 degrees.
Most of us will stay dry, but be vigilant for a few slick spots early in the night. Otherwise, skies will clear somewhat overnight, returning temperatures to the 20s.
Bright, cold weekend
Friday will keep plenty of clouds around, with highs reaching the mid-30s.
Both Saturday and Sunday will give us mostly sunny skies. Highs will just touch 32 degrees Saturday.
Sunday will get us to the mid-30s, so expect dry but chilly conditions at the Big House for Saturday’s Michigan vs. Michigan State duel.
The sun will be out for the noon kickoff, but temperatures will stay below freezing for the entire game.
Here comes 40
Temperatures will rise through the weekend into early next week.
Monday and Tuesday will take us to the upper 30s in the afternoon, but 40-degree temperatures won’t arrive until Wednesday.
By the later part of next week, we’ll spend more of our days above freezing than not.
