Metro Detroit weather: Still Above Freezing, More Clouds Sunday Evening

DETROIT – Happy Sunday, Motown!

Thicker clouds approach the Motor City area as Sunday ends. More melting happens all week with a steady rise in daytime temperatures through Thursday.

Sunday afternoon slowly becomes cloudier, but it remains above freezing. Temps will be in the mid 30s.

Sunset is at 5:10 p.m. ET.

Sunday evening will get closer to the freezing mark. Temperatures will be in the low 30s as clouds gather.

The quilt of clouds will keep temperatures near 30°F overnight, Sunday night into Monday morning.

Monday and Tuesday will be overcast and chilly. Gradual melting continues with high temperatures near 40°F each day.

We break 40°F on Wednesday. Partly sunny skies will help with that.

The next chance of showers will be on Thursday and part of Friday. Highs will be in the upper 40s, Thursday, and near 40 degrees, Friday.
