DETROIT – A little bit of relief from the heat is on tap the next couple of days, followed by some rain that will impact part of your weekend plans.
Skies stay clear tonight as temperatures drop to near 60 degrees. With lots of sunshine on Thursday, we rebound nicely into the middle 80s for highs. Still warm, just not as hot as it has been the last few days. Another thing you will notice Thursday is the humidity going down, making it feel a lot better.
We hang on to sunshine Friday before a few more clouds return later Saturday, but rain on Sunday brings bigger impacts.
Showers are expected to start the day Sunday and should be pretty widespread across southeast Michigan. Some models have a few showers lingering into the afternoon, but given that models continue to speed up this next system, the consensus is that we will have some dry time on Sunday afternoon.
Next week forecast
Following the rain Sunday, cooler temperatures return for the start of next week. Highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, which is below normal for this time of the year. It won’t last long, though, as a warming trend kicks in starting Wednesday with highs back in the middle 80s.
