Metro Detroit weather forecast: Chilly morning and warmer afternoon

DETROIT – Morning temperatures are even cooler than yesterday as we see more 30s to low 40s around Metro Detroit to start your Tuesday.

Clear skies most of the day with a few cirrus clouds streaming through this morning. Bright sunshine and breezy to windy conditions will help us all warm up throughout the afternoon with highs getting into the mid and upper 60s. We never made it out of the 50s Monday. The winds SW 10-20 mph by mid to late morning gusting 20-25 mph will blow the leaves around the neighborhood, but won’t be any more problematic.

It won’t be as cool to start the day tomorrow with more low and mid 40s early on under clear skies. Sunshine will be a great theme this week as sunny skies help us get to near 70 degrees Wednesday and Thursday with breezy conditions tomorrow and a little less so Thursday.

This classic and mild Fall weather will stay with us Friday and Saturday as cool mornings in the 40s quickly warm into the upper 60s and low 70s under mostly sunny skies. Most of Sunday looks dry and pleasant, but clouds increase throughout the day and showers and isolated thunderstorms roll through with a cold front around dinner time Sunday. Cooler weather heads our way next week and we should see a few rain chances then as well. If it’s cool enough during the overnights and mornings, we may see a little wintry mix trying to fall -- stay tuned. Track sky conditions and our next rain chances with our Local4Casters app.
