Metro Detroit Weather: More sunshine, higher temps coming

High Monday in mid-70s

DETROIT – Higher temps are on the way later this week, as early as Monday.

Sunday night will be clear and chilly. Overnight lows will be near 50 degrees in Detroit and in the 40s in surrounding cities and town.

Monday will have more sunshine and higher temps. Afternoon readings will reach 75 degrees. Great weather for outdoor recess and after-school activities.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be warmer. Skies will be mostly sunny. Daytime temps reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees each day. The next chance of rain, which the Motown area needs, will be late Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

Thursday will have showers and highs near 70 degrees.

Cooler and sunnier Friday and Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 60s.
