Metro Detroit weather: More snow on deck for Monday, early Tuesday

Temps to stay cold

DETROIT – Are you ready for it? More snow is set to arrive Monday and early Tuesday.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewHumphrey) for regular weather updates.

Late Sunday and into early Monday will bring very cold temperatures, with overnight lows in the low- and mid-20s with an approaching Alberta Clipper.

That clipper system brings snow on Monday. By the end of the morning commute and the afternoon, more light to moderate snow showers will arrive. The clipper moves very quickly, so snow totals will be around 1 to 2 inches -- generally light. Highs will be near freezing.

Tuesday will have lingering scattered snow in the morning and mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Still cold with afternoon temps in the low 30s.

The most frigid air of the week arrives Tuesday night through Thursday. Wednesday morning lows will be in the single digits and just above 10 degrees. Wind chills near zero. Wednesday afternoon will be mostly sunny but very cold with highs in the low and mid-20s.

Thursday will have morning lows in the teens and wind chills in the single digits. Daytime temps in the upper 20s.
