Cold temperatures to start Thursday morning

Snow to reach Metro Detroit by early afternoon

By Brandon Roux - Meteorologist, Segment Reporter/Producer

DETROIT - The snow is spreading over the area and it will get heavier at times through the afternoon.

It's cold and windy for the rest of the day and the snow will be blowing around the roads making for a very rough evening commute.

Leave early, plan ahead, and be safe!

Highs in the upper 20s feel like teens at best with winds SW 10-25 mph. We will likely see a spread of 1-3" around Metro Detroit today and tonight.

Some lingering snow into Friday will lay down a bit more snow tomorrow with scattered, light snow on and off. It will be cool and breezy once again with lows and highs in the 20s feeling like single digits and teens.

We have a series of weak Alberta Clippers over the next week that are more miss than hit. That includes a Saturday system that looks to be tracking just west and south of SE Michigan.

But it may be impactful if you're driving into Indiana and/or Illinois early this weekend.
