DETROIT - Cold and snowy trend continues for the Detroit area Tuesday.

Fortunately, the snow will be scattered with little accumulation. Temps will start in the middle 20s and barely budge during the day. Afternoon highs will be near freezing, 32 degrees.

Tuesday night temps will fall to the 20s, again.

One would not know Spring begins on Wednesday but it does. The vernal equinox is at 7:02 am ET and, like a broken record, the highs will be just above 30 with light snow showers.

Thursday, Friday and the rest of the week will be sunnier.  This will help to loosen Old Man Winter's icy grip. However, temps will rise slowly and remain below average.  Highs will be in the mid 30s Thursday, the upper 30s Friday and near 40 Friday.
