Metro Detroit Weather: Friday night skies will be fair, chillier

Lows near 50 degrees

DETROIT – Friday evening and Friday night look spectacular. If you're visiting your favorite haunted house, spook-tacular, you'll find fair skies and cooler temperatures. Warmer weather is on the way for Motown's weekend.

Friday evening will be mostly clear and cool with temps falling to the 60s. The Detroit Red Wings host the Washington Capitals at LCA. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. There will be dry roads for hockey fans going to and from the stadium. Just remember your favorite Red Wings jacket.

Friday night becomes chillier. It will still be fair with overnight lows reaching the 40s and low 50s.

There will be more more sunshine Saturday. Skies will be mostly sunny, and it gets warmer. Highs will be in the middle and upper 70s. The Michigan State Spartans play the Indiana Hoosiers in football in East Lansing. Highs will be in the middle and upper 70s at Spartans Stadium, too, during the 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Saturday evening will be perfect for a stroll or dinner out. Temps will be in the 60s and low 70s.

Saturday night will be cool and clear with lows in the 50s. It's a terrific time to get your family hooked on astronomy. The Orionid meteor shower will be on full display late at night and before dawn Sunday.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and warm. Enjoy the great fall foliage with highs returning to the middle and upper 70s.

Showers arrive after Sunday Night Football and by sunrise Monday. Rain will affect the morning and lunchtime commutes Monday. It will be cooler with highs in the middle 60s.

More showers are possible Tuesday. Temps will be  below average. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 50s.
