DETROIT – It's not a big storm and, with temperatures still well below average, it'll be a lighter-weight snow, but it still could be enough to slow things down on the roads Friday.
Here's how I see things developing: light snow will move in late tonight.

I don't see much accumulating before the morning rush but, as you know, even a light dusting sometimes causes our worst accidents because some people still insist on driving 70 or 80 mph with a little snow on the road.
It'll be a good idea to check in with Local 4 News Morning before you head out into tomorrow morning's rush hour, where Ashlee Baracy will keep you ahead of the game with the latest traffic reports and live looks at the freeways from our MDOT traffic cams.
Periods of snow will continue through the day, with an average of 2 to 3 inches accumulating by Friday evening.
Obviously, there can be some variation across the large Local 4 viewing area, which extends from Sanilac County down to the state line and westward nearly all the way to Jackson, but I think many of us will be in the 2 to 3 inch range.
The weekend looks dry, and then more snow will move in Sunday night (you'll probably have to do more shoveling Monday morning).This time, however, the snow is developing ahead of the big push of warm air heading our way...and we'll be well into the 40s (with rain) on Tuesday.
One final comment: Take a look at the below photo. (I snapped it safely at a stop just as the light turned green.)
If you don't have time to clean the snow off of your windows, then you have no business being on the road.
It's especially important to have good visibility around you in inclement weather, and if my preaching to you about this doesn't motivate you, then consider this: a police officer seeing you driving like
this will likely pull you over and write you a ticket for driving with obstructed vision.
So do the right thing for and sweep the snow off your car before hitting the roads. Stay safe out there everyone!
