We could see storms later today, says 4caster Brandon Roux.

Rain needed in Metro Detroit, but on Father's Day?

Today's forecast is a bit of a paradox: We desperately need some rain, but we'd also rather not get it on a holiday. Showers and thunderstorms will increase during the morning hours, and will end from west to east through the afternoon. Morning outdoor plans are in jeopardy…the Tiger game and the big NASCAR race at M.I.S. will likely be delayed, but I think they'll both eventually start this afternoon. Your evening Father's Day BBQs should be fine.

Muggy highs in the upper 70s to near 80. Becoming mostly clear tonight, with lows in the mid 60s. Partly cloudy on Monday with a chance of thunderstorm later in the day, and highs in the mid 80s. Then we'll be in the 90s both Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly sunny skies.
