Metro Detroit weather: Cooler temperatures continue until dry weekend

Summer temperatures start to rebound Friday

DETROIT – The late-summer chill will deepen before we get back to normal August numbers.

On Wednesday night, daytime clouds will fade, leaving Metro Detroit mainly clear for most of the night. Temperatures will drop to the 40s in many locations, with low to mid-50s in our Metro Zone.

Thursday will be even cooler with highs struggling to hit 70 degrees. Normal highs are still in the low 80s. Expect partly cloudy skies with a stray sprinkle around in the afternoon.

Temperatures will start to rebound Friday, but will still be below normal. Highs will end up in the low to mid-70s. Plenty of sunshine will come along with it.

The dry stretch will continue into the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny. Highs will hit the mid-70s Saturday and the upper 70s Sunday. Humidity will stay low, too.

Temperatures will keep rising into next week, but rain isn’t in a hurry to return to Southeast Michigan. Check out the 10-day forecast to see when the next drops will fall.
