Metro Detroit weather forecast: Back to reality

DETROIT – Good Wednesday morning! It is dry and calm with early morning temps in the low 40s falling back into the mid and upper 30s for a short time around sunrise.

You can expect tons of sun today but much cooler compared to yesterday when we were well into the 60s. Instead, today will be another day in the mid 40s holding steady through the afternoon. Skies remain clear with lighter winds WNW 5-10 mph all the way through sunset.

The next wet weather maker will be rain and it will be early tomorrow. If the precipitation arrives early enough, we may see a few wet snowflakes in our North Zone Thursday morning. Most of us will see light to moderate rain around Metro Detroit in a window from 7am through 1pm or so. We should still see high temps around 50 degrees tomorrow as the sun will come racing back through the mid and late afternoon. The winds will pick up but are manageable SSW 5-15 mph.

The weather pattern over SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario is very quiet through the weekend without much rain or snow to discuss. We’ll see plenty of weekend sun and temps slightly above average in the mid to upper 40s. There’s a storm brewing in our model date for early to mid week next week which we’ll keep you posted on as we get closer.
