Metro Detroit weather forecast: Cool Monday morning, temps near 80 this afternoon

DETROIT – We are in for a spectacular day around Metro Detroit after great sleeping weather and morning lows in the 40s and 50s early to start your Tuesday.

You can expect plenty of sunshine mixed with some high clouds, and light winds N 5-10 mph as high temperatures settle around 80 degrees this afternoon. Our North Zone will stay a bit cooler with the lake breeze keeping areas closer to Lake Huron in the 70s.

Wednesday forecast

Wednesday is likely going to be the warmest day of the week after lows start in the upper 50s to low 60s tomorrow. Keep the shades handy as the sunshine sends high temps into the low and mid 80s and just a touch more muggy.  A cool front will slowly approach from the north and parts of Central Michigan will likely see spotty storms by Wednesday evening. Our chances for wet weather will hold off just a little while longer.

Thursday forecast

You can expect Thursday to start with rain and thunderstorms which could slow down the morning commute. The best chances for stronger storms will be in our South Zone, but we are all in a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Thursday. The storms will likely fire up again in the afternoon and we’ll need to keep our eyes to the skies for a few stronger storms.

Beautiful weather returns Friday through the weekend with more sun and temps around 80 degrees. You can track temperatures climbing this week and our radar to stay ahead of shower and storm chances with our Local4Casters app.
