Metro Detroit weather forecast: Warm and windy Tuesday

DETROIT – A clear and cool start, but not as cool as the last several days.

Tuesday temps start in the upper 30s to mid 40s as you head out and the winds will start picking up this morning. Those winds SW 10-20 mph may gust as high as 30 mph with sunshine through the mid afternoon and highs expected to be in the upper 50s to low 60s. A cold front will sweep through this evening bringing very scattered rain showers by 7 or 8pm for a short time and then clearing.

The cold front changes thing for Wednesday cooling us all back down into the low and mid 30s early tomorrow. We will get back into the sunshine through the afternoon and highs will get stuck in the low and mid 40s with lighter winds WNW 6-12 mph.

The next wet weather maker will be rain and it will be midday Thursday around Metro Detroit. Those showers come during temps in the mid to maybe upper 40s, so no threat for snow around here. And, we may get back into the sunshine by late afternoon if the showers cruise through quickly. This will not be an all day soaker on Thursday, but some nuisance showers which should be gone by the evening drive.

Get used to the mid 40s because we will be in that ballpark through the weekend without much rain or snow to discuss. There’s a storm brewing in our model date for early to mid week next week which we’ll keep you posted on as we get closer.
