DETROIT - We have to look elsewhere to find any sun to brighten our dull Thursday around Metro Detroit, and we're not completely done with the rain.
Look for only spotty, light rain showers coming and going through 3 or 4pm with a little bit of drizzle in between. Keep your afternoon outdoor plans in place, but dress for cooler and damp Fall-like weather as highs will be lucky to get into the mid 60s later on.
The winds will shift from the east to the west or WNW 5-15 mph gusting 15-20 mph at times. The evening drive should be ok with spotty drizzle still possible to slow some down just a tick.

Cooler air keeps coming at us overnight and we should land near 50°F first thing Friday morning with many parts of SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario seeing refreshing 40s as you head out early tomorrow.
Look for a little bit of sun, and a whole bunch of clouds, especially on the east side and in our North Zone. Winds from the north 5-15 mph will keep clouds pouring off of Lake Huron and a few midday showers will form mainly in The Thumb, parts of Southern Ontario, and for some east-siders.
Highs may not get out of the 50s, although a few areas should hit low 60s west of I-275 with a bit more sunshine. It's dry for high school football games, but a jacket is a great idea with temps in the mid 50s and a bit of a breeze Friday evening.
Weekend weather forecast
The weekend starts out dry and super cool with morning lows in the low to mid 40s for one and all. Yeah, that's cool.
Some of our suburbs may be flirting with the 30s to start the weekend with dew on the grass instead of frost. We're not there yet. We will get some sunshine through the morning and early afternoon taking highs into the low to mid 60s.
Skies fill with clouds late in the day ahead of rain moving in either late, late at night or overnight into early Sunday. So, Sunday starts with early morning showers drying out and moving on leaving us partly cloudy on the dry side.
Sunday afternoon highs will head back to seasonal averages in the upper 60s to low 70s with some afternoon sunshine and a warming breeze.
It looks like a nice and bright first half of next week with sunshine Monday through Wednesday and highs in the low to mid 60s. More shower chances return by Thursday so stay tuned.
