Metro Detroit weather: Warmer week ahead after cold Monday night

Cold temperatures overnight

DETROIT – So far, Monday's 57-degree temperature is the coldest high we've had this month, tying Thursday's number.

Our nighttime temperatures will really grab your attention. It will be our coldest night since early May. Overnight lows will be on either side of 40 degrees. A light but persistent wind should keep frost from forming.

Sunshine will come back Tuesday, and bring warmer temperatures with it. Highs will be in the mid-60s, with breezy conditions.

The sunshine will stay with us all the through the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will increase each day. We’ll be back to temperatures in the 70s by Friday afternoon. Morning lows won’t be as chilly, either, in the mid-40s and 50s for our starting point by midweek.

You’ll also notice one thing that’s not in our 10-day forecast until next week.
