DETROIT – Round one brought a good soaking rain to much of the area this morning.
Now, round two poses the threat for stronger storms. Temps will heat up into the mid and upper 80s and an approaching cold front will mix with our warm air mass leading to some dangerous storm potential.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed us and most of Michigan under a Slight Risk for Severe Storms. Gusty winds, hail, flash floods, and lightning are the main concerns. Our storm timeline is mainly between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
It's an extended window for storms but we want to make sure everyone is on alert in case one of these stronger storms takes aim on you. Not everyone will see big storms but we will all likely see more rain this afternoon. Some bouts of moderate rain are possible again late tonight and throughout the overnight. So, watch out for flooded streets and basements tomorrow morning.
We will see a few isolated showers on Wednesday but most of the day will be dry as we stay warm. Highs will hit the middle 80s tomorrow with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies and a few spotty showers.
