DETROIT - A calm morning around SE Michigan to start your hump day. Lows are mainly in the 50s as you head out first thing on this Wednesday.

Stormy weather is on the way for later today. Metro Detroit will be dry through the morning commute and rain will move through after the lunch hour. Radar shows the heaviest rain and threat for severe weather is south in Ohio and Indiana today.

We will get a glancing blow with a soggy afternoon and early evening with highs today coming before the rain in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Rain will be less likely in our northern counties and could be much heavier south along the Ohio border. Once the wet weather begins, it will feel cooler with the rain cooled afternoon air.

A few showers may linger into early Thursday, but the end of the work and school week will be a bit dryer.

Highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the low 70s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.

It looks dry for the Race For The Cure in Detroit on Saturday but, storms may get it the way of some of your weekend plans. The most recent model data shows rain and thunder Sunday evening.

We'll keep you updated if storms arrive earlier in the day Sunday.
