Scattered snow showers in the works for Christmas day

By Paul Gross - Meteorologist

DETROIT - Merry Christmas!  We'll have cloudy skies today, with a few festive flurries or very light snow showers.  Highs in the mid-20s by late afternoon.  A more robust area of snow will develop tonight…probably by late evening.

An inch or two of accumulation is possible by morning.  Temperatures steady in the mid-20s through the night.

Snow ends Thursday morning, then becoming partly cloudy.  Highs in the mid to upper 20s.  Milder Friday through Sunday, with highs in the 30s (perfect skiing weather!).  The next chances for snow are Sunday (not a big deal), and Tuesday (perhaps 1-3").
